article genre
(purpose, type)
This article will be made to fit into the genre which is the Women’s Lifestyle genre. The aim of this article is to educate the audience on different methods of customising old garments as buying new clothes all the time is expensive- especially for many young people.
Narrative voice
(1st, 2nd or 3rd person) |
The narratives that I have chosen to use for this article are the second and third person narratives. Like the nails article, the third person narrative will be used for the informal information e.g. the guides, whereas the second person narrative will be used for the more chatty areas of the article.
Register
(informal/formal, colloquial, dialect, taboo words?)
Like my nails article, this article will be a combination of colloquial and formal language which will create an even balance of clear instructions, and chatty, relaxed information.
Stylistics
(repetition, strong verbs, adjectives, alliteration, similes, metaphors, sentencing, rhythm)
Like my nails article, It is unlikely that this article will feature any specific stylistics as the majority of it will be a step-by-step guide. The sentencing rhythm for the main article will be quite fast, so as to build up excitement and interest for the step-by-step guides.
Tone of address
(hectoring, sarcastic, ‘matey’, ironic, etc)
The introduction to my article will be quite chatty and matey so as not to scare off the audience and to make them feel comfortable reading my article.
Structure and pace
(discourse structure, logical paragraphing, connectives, conclusion)
Seeing as my article itself will be broken up into many different areas and sections, the paragraphs will only be short. By making my paragraphs quite short, I will be able to maintain the audience’s attention as I know that many people of my TA do not enjoy reading large pieces of information.
